What are we going to do?
Students and parents, it is with great excitement that we welcome you to the Academy! Our goals are to connect our community, orient students to high school, and introduce the virtues. Here, we equip every student to learn well: creatively, critically and with a capacity for self-growth.

When is it?
Monday, Aug 27th and Tuesday, Aug 28th from 8:15 a.m. to 1:57 p.m.

Where is it?
On our school campus - located at 1637 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90813.

Where should I drop off and pick up my student?
There are several drop-off locations. The closest one is right in front of the Academy on Long Beach Blvd. Cars are not allowed to park in the drop off zone so drivers should stay in their cars, and students should exit on the sidewalk side only. There are parking options a bit further down the block.

You can also do drop off, and pick up, one-half block further down on Long Beach Blvd. in front of Poly's PAALs campus. You can park here too, except on Tuesday mornings when it is street sweeping. You can also drop off and pick up on 16th Street.

Public transportation is encouraged.
Blue line to PCH.
Metro Bus route 51, 52, 61, 111, 171, 1

What do I wear?
Dress-code approve clothes. Please see the dress-code for more information.

Why we do what we do?
Intellectual Virtues Academy's mission is to foster meaningful growth in intellectual character virtues in a thoughtful, challenging, and supportive academic environment. Intellectual character virtues are the deep personal qualities of a good thinker or learner.
