Meal Program

Intellectual Virtues Academy participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. By offering foods through Better4You Meals, students may purchase lunch for $3.75 and breakfast for $2.00. Eligible students may receive meals at free or reduced-prices, $0.40 for lunch and $0.30 for breakfast.

The Academy is excited to be partnering with a new food vendor, Better4You Meals to offer both meals for purchase and free and reduced price meals through the National School Lunch Program. 

All families need to complete a meal application to ensure our school does our due diligence to serve all students well.

To SIGN UP for our lunch program follow these steps:

  1. Fill out our meal application in the *Titan Portal or by downloading the paper application 2019 Meal Application to drop off at our office. 
  2. Add balance to your Student Account through Titan
  3. See our monthly menu in the Commons at school to plan ahead
    1. Our breakfast option is different each day and we have 4 lunch options daily including a hot entree, vegetarian entree, sandwich option, or a salad option. Check out our new Meal Vendor - Better4You Meals

How will I find out the status of my free/reduced meal application?
The Academy will notify you within 10 school days, either by email or letter. If you have not received a notice, please contact the school office at 562.283.4456 or info@academylongbeach.org
* What is Titan?
Titan is our point of sales system which allows families to complete applications and add funds to student accounts. Families do not need to create an account to simple complete the application. You can find the Titan App in the Apple Store or Google Play Store by searching "Titan Family Connect"

Summer Meal Availability
To find locations that serve meals over the summer, you may visit the USDA Food and Nutrition Service website. 
If you need to file a complaint, please complete the CDE Survey.
Academy Wellness Committee
Mission Statement: Ensuring that the Academy's Wellness Policy is followed while promoting the overall wellness of our school community by implementing school-wide wellness initiatives. 
The wellness committee is a group comprised of staff members, students, and parents who promote and lead campus wide initiatives in an effort to promote the wellness of our school. Meetings are held each semester for a duration of one hour. If you are interested in joining the committee, feel free to contact the front office.

All stakeholders are able to participate in the development, review, update, and implementation of the Local School Wellness Policy. Please contact our office for more information.
