Thank you for your interest in Intellectual Virtues Academy, A Long Beach Public High School. Selecting a high school is an exciting process, and we understand that this requires a thoughtful decision. Our team is ready to help you learn more about The Academy’s engaging college-preparatory curriculum, core mission and values, and dynamic community.
The Academy operates as a charter school under the authorization of the Los Angeles County of Education (LACOE) and the State of California Department of Education. As a charter school, The Academy is tuition-free, independently operated, non-sectarian, non-profit, and opens enrollment to all high school students, regardless of background. We are currently accepting enrollment for students in 9th through 12th grade for the 2019-2020 school year. Most students transition in our 9th grade class, with a handful of spaces in the other grades. Their are no residential restrictions-- anyone in California can apply to enroll at the Academy.
Academy students ask questions and take risks, know how to think critically and thoroughly, listen to other perspectives with an open-mind, and use perseverance to overcome challenges. They are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and “habits of mind” needed for success in college, careers, and beyond!
We invite you to learn more about our program by exploring our website, www.academylongbeach.org, attending one of our upcoming enrollment events, or by following us on Facebook, at AcademyLBHS. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at email@example.com or call (562) 283-4465.
We look forward to getting to know you and your child as your families explores the Academy!
