To get to know Intellectual Virtues Academy, A Long Beach Public High School, we welcome and encourage you to experience the school firsthand at one of our various admission events. If you have any questions or would like to register to attend an event, please contact the front office at 562.283.4456. Personal tours can also be scheduled by calling the main school office.

School Tour 

A great place to begin your journey would be to visit during a regular school day. School tours give you a sense of what a regular day looks like at the Academy. You will be able to observe the classroom, witness how students engage with the curriculum and collaborate with each other, and see how our innovative teachers make thinking visible. The tour also includes a brief presentation on the school’s history, mission, and curriculum.

Tours are generally about an hour long.

Information Sessions (September through February)

We invite you to attend one of our Information Sessions events to learn more about the Academy’s model of education through various interactive sessions with faculty. Click the links below to make your reservation.

  • Thursday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 15 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 3 at 10 a.m. 
 

Public Lottery- February 8

**May update: No lottery is needed. Student can now enroll as space permits. Contact the front office to start the enrollment process

A public lottery drawing is scheduled for February 8 and is open to the public. Names are randomly chosen until available spaces are filled. Enrollment is on a rolling basis between April through September, as space permits.
